Safeguard
Comensura Safeguard is concerned with ensuring the integrity and accuracy of your processes and procedures. Our dedicated Safeguard Audit Teams investigate and audit your chosen area to verify standards, contracts and legislative compliance.
We have Safeguard solutions for:
- Supplier Audit – A regular audit of suppliers can reveal contractual adherence, procedural digressions, and overall performance, leading to ongoing improvement.
- Quality Assurance – Our team can instigate a quarterly review of your QA requirements, pinpointing areas marked for improvement and areas of excellence.
- Health & Safety Compliance – A laborious task to complete within your organisation, Safeguarding Health and Safety Compliance checks means that problem areas are flagged up regularly before they cause a problem
- Identity Verification – Auditing ‘elegibility for work’ ensures that only those with the correct and verifiable documentation are employed.
Example: Safeguard for Identity Verification
Identity fraud is a real issue for those purchasing or supplying temporary personnel. Audits recently conducted by Comensura for two London Councils shockingly revealed that the ‘eligibility to work’ documentation for up to 60% of workers was fraudulent; that CRB checks had been made against fraudulent identities; and that 33% of workers were ineligible to work in their current assignments.
To counter this on your behalf, we have introduced Comensura Safeguard. Comensura’s dedicated Audit Team ensures 100% of supplying agencies are audited every six months against contractual and legislative compliance. Any issues that are identified are immediately escalated to the authorities including the immigration service and the GSCC. The Audit Team even checks Comensura’s Safeguarding Team to ensure they are fully adhering to the process. Our neutral status means we are uniquely positioned to assess the quality of suppliers from a wholly independent perspective.
The Comensura Safeguarding Process establishes the suitability of candidates, confirming their identity and eligibility to work in the UK through a combination of C.net and verified, current documentary evidence, including:
- Curriculum Vitae
- Applicant copy of Enhanced CRB Disclosure
- Official Photographic evidence of ID
- Minimum 5 years references
- Overseas Police Checks
Enhanced IdentitySafeguarding
The Enhanced Safeguarding process acts as an additional check designed to add extra security where a candidate works with children or vulnerable adults in a primarily unsupervised role.
The Safeguard process allows information to be considered without discrimination. Comensura uses the ‘Employing Ex-Offenders: A Practical Guide’, a document produced by the CIPD when making assessments on the relevancy of convictions. For example, a criminal record must form part of the screening process, but does not necessarily mean a candidate will not be put forward for a position. If a candidate is unable to provide a driving license or passport, they may still be considered. The Line Manager will be provided with all the available information for a decision to be made. Similarly, failure of CRB disclosure does not automatically preclude a candidate from consideration. However, temporary workers and consultants working within high-risk environments are expected to provide this document.
